Like most network marketers, I was looking for a way to get out of the rat race.  Luckily, I received a call from my brother telling me I needed to be at my Sister’s house to meet a young man and his wife.  Until that day I had never heard anything about MLM or network marketing, be it good or bad.  At the end of the meeting, the young man told me that I needed to make a list of short, mid and long term goals.  Well, I was so occupied with thoughts of all the things that I could do with this new opportunity that I did not sleep for two nights straight!

This couple had instructed me to list all of the people I knew.  To help with the task of remembering everyone, I was given a Memory Jogger list; you know the list with all the occupations in the world.  The next step would then be to invite my top 10 prospects to a meeting; the young couple would then explain this same business opportunity to these 10 persons.  Well things did not go quite as planned, but never the less I knew this opportunity would take work and I was willing to work hard for my goals. My motivation was simple. I did not want to work until I was 65 or 70 years old and I wanted to be able to enjoy traveling the world.  After I went through my list of people I knew (Family and Friends) and only sponsored a couple of people, I did the next best thing, met new people.

My approach was very simple.  I would talk to anyone that said hello and stood still for 30 seconds; I did not know any better.  Now is where I stop for a minute to tell you that this is the way most network marketers get started.  While nothing is wrong with this approach, it cannot and must not be the only way in which you build your business.  Do not make the same mistakes I made and confuse hard working with smart working.

I was trying to build a large network marketing organization by prospecting friends and family and buying leads. I even went as far as prospecting people from the shopping malls, gas stations, and the like. Ironically, this marketing technique is still being taught by most network marketing companies today.  This approach alone contributes to a 97% failure rate within network marketing! The only result I got out of using this technique was frustration and an empty bank account. I was doing what I was told to do, but what I was told to do was based upon old assumptions that just weren’t true anymore.

Here’s something that I want to share with you in hopes that it invigorates you try something new.  Until August of 2009, the term attraction marketing was foreign to me and I did not think much of it at the time. Attraction marketing explained that the reason for my lack of success wasn’t a lack of work or effort, but a lack of knowledge. I quickly realized attraction marketing was the difference between working hard and working smart. In just one month of using the techniques I had learned from attraction marketing, I transitioned my business into positive cash flow.

I would like to share my success with all network marketers.  Hopefully, my approach will enable you to stay within your MLM business and experience its lucrative rewards.  Now, there is a right way to utilize attraction marketing and there is a wrong way.  The difference is the number of leads you generate for your business.  If you are ready to experience the right way, subscribe to my blog to receive more information on the effective techniques within attraction marketing.  With a subscription to my blog, you will learn the principles:

  • Social marketing (Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn),
  •  video marketing,
  •  Content/Article marketing,
  •  Pay Per Click marketing,
  •  forum marketing,
  • blogging 101,
  •  and much, much more.

So, don’t choose the blue pill, and continue to use those same old techniques that yield few results. Through this blog, I will offer you information, education, inspiration, tips, and best practices so that you may do as I did and achieve your success!

To your success
